Story Summary
When Betsy realizes that her neighbor, Mrs. Goldman, has no one to give her presents, Betsy decides to give her what she says she wants most, a football. After Betsy gives Mrs. Goldman the football, she discovers that it was really a fruit bowl that sounded like football in Mrs. Goldman's broken English. None-the-less, the football sat in a place of honor as Mrs. Goldman's most beloved possession.
