Story Summary
Young Henry loves to hear his grandpa tell the story about how the family had to leave their farm on account of the dust bowl in 1938. They knew things were bad when the meadowlarks disappeared, but when they arrived in Oregon at their Uncle Jack's, the first thing they heard was a meadowlark.
