Escape from Slavery: Five Journeys to Freedom
Story Summary
Sisters Selena and Cornelia Jackson had made it all the way from Tennessee to the black community of Cabin Creek in Indiana but their owner was still in pursuit with a legal writ for their return. Fortunately the citizens of Cabin Creek knew how to hide runaway slaves and how to trick slave holders. Using a bait and switch and disguising Selena and Cornelia as little boys, they were able to get them out of town and on their way to Canada via the underground railroad.
