After the war between Holland and England, in the time of Cromwell, a secret society, The Gentlemen of the Sealed Knot, continue to fight against Cromwell. A young English boy living in Holland overhears their plot to kill an English ambassador but can he get to the ambassador in time? He can if he skates the twenty miles straight down the frozen river in the dead of night.
