Story Summary

Eugenia Begay, a young Navajo girl, lives with her grandmother on the reservation while her mother works in nearby Falgstaff. Unlike her mother, she learns to respect the old ways and to her surprise she inherits her grandmother's special turquoise earrings even though they are usually passed from mother to daughter.
