Story Summary
With a Navajo mother and a Seneca father, Alan could enroll with either nation but not both. He knew he wanted to enroll with the Seneca nation but felt that it would devastate his mother. With advice and encouragement from and unexpected source, Alan finally tells his parents only to find out that they love him for who he is and that either choice would have been fine.
