Young Bob can't understand why his father's hired hand, Shane, doesn't carry a gun, until one day Bob is playing with his toy gun and Shane gives him a lesson on drawing a gun in a fight. That's when Bob realizes there is something mighty hurtful in Shane's past that caused him to put away his gun forever.
