Story Summary
When a Griffin hears of his likeness carved by a sculptor over a church door, he comes to town to view the sculpture. The frightened towns people send the Minor Canon to talk with him, a young man for whom the Griffin takes quite a liking but doesn't like the way he is treated by the cowardly and selfish inhabitants of the town.
