The Last Flower on Earth

On a future earth, destitute of most life and used only as a dump for useless space junk, young Misaki has spent a year trying to get a rescue signal to her parents. But good fortune awaits when she sees a discarded robot fall to earth. Finding it operable but in some way altered from its program as a pilot's aid, Misaki and the robot learn to depend on each other with what could only be called affection.
