Trail of Tears

On September 27, 1830, a Treaty was signed at Dancing Rabbit Creek, calling for the removal of the Choctaws to Indian Territory. This is the poignant story of the horrifying winter of 1830-1831 and the forced march to Oklahoma from the perspective of the youngest child in one Choctaw family as he witnesses the starvation and death of so many of his tribe, including, sadly, his mother.
