Zebra

Adam Martin Zebrin, Zebra, was a runner until he ran in front of a car and shattered his leg. Neither his leg, nor his mind were healing very well until he took a summer art course from a one-armed artist. Zebra wondered how his teacher had lost his arm, but despite a summer of a growing friendship, the mystery wasn't revealed until his teacher chose Zebra's artwork to take along on his annual pilgrimage to the Vietnam memorial where, each year, he honored his fallen friend with a piece of art chosen from his students.
