Chandra and Andris are forbidden to enter the Tychan village where their father is negotiating with the Tychan leader over the right to set up human farming colonies on Tycha. When Andris looses his Slicer ball through the city gates, he creates a small robot to retrieve it, inadvertently discovering the key to negotiation - the Tychans love games.
