Amelie's Guardian

When young Amelie's father, the Captain of the King's Guard, is called to war, Amelie's days are brightened by the friendship of an ancient dragon. But the dragon is cautious about being seen by adult humans since that never goes well until Amelie's father is alone and surrounded by the enemy on his way home. The dragon decides to save him, leading to a celebrated friendship with the villagers and earning him the honorific, "Amelie's Guardian."
