Story Summary
In the late 18th century, young Anna, living in the Count's house in Jarlsberg, finds herself giving a tour of the mansion to, according to her aunt, an unimportant woman. The woman encourages Anna to educate and to think for herself and when the woman leaves she gives Anna a copy of her own book, "A Vindication of the Rights of Women" by Mary Wollstonecraft. A gently told story about one of the earliest feminists and mother of her more famous offspring, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, author of Frankenstein.
