Story Summary

Ben Franklin has commissioned an ink stand from Mr. Syng, the local silversmith, but when he must fire his apprentice for stealing, Mr. Syng despairs of finishing the ink stand in time. Luckily his daughter, who longs to be an apprentice herself, has already secretly worked out a beautiful design.
