Story Summary
In 1941, during the bombing of London, world renown aviatrix, Amy Johnson, is asked to transport a young girl, Ruby, to the countryside for safety. Unfortunately loosing their way in a blinding snowstorm, they dip beneath the clouds to get their bearings only to take friendly fire above London. With their plane in flames and only one parachute they have no option but to bail out. Sadly, while huddled tightly together during their descent, young Ruby takes a bullet and is dead on impact. A tense, well told story expertly complimenting established fact with imagination.
