Story Summary
When Yakone, a young Inuit girl witnesses the destruction of her village and the death of her parents at the hands of foreign traders, she alone escapes by dogsled and must trust in Nanuk, the Great White Bear to guide her to the next village. But it is her own courage and perseverance that allows her to overcome seemingly impossible conditions bringing her safely to the next Inuit village.
