The Soul by Which We Measure Ours

Tianlong is the smartest but slowest dragon in her clan, yet she has been chosen to represent dragons in the Jade Emperors race to fill the ranks of his heavenly guard. On the way to the palace her heart overcomes her duty when she stops to save a village engulfed in flames. But she is still awarded a place in the guard for her generous heart, steadfast will and quick courage - "the soul by which we measure ours."
