The Robot Did It

On Moon Base Alpha, ten-year-old Nia's best friend is an alien named H'raf. Unfortunately H'raf has to leave the moon base but leaves Nia with a bic!dul, a simple enough toy that transforms on command. But Nia discovers the bic!dul is anything but a simple toy when it begins disassembling the moon and Nia realizes that she must translate the complexities of H'raf's language perfectly to make it stop. Wonderfully reminiscent of Ursula Le Guin's love for alien and invented languages.
